Service Above Self Humanitarian Award - Gala Event

It is with great joy and honor that the Rotary Club of Century City announces the 2008 "Service Above Self" Humanitarian Award Honoree: Sherry Lansing.

She has made great strides with her Foundation in the world of Cancer Research and Education. Sherry was born in Chicago and pursued an acting career after graduating from Northwestern University. After appearing in two films, Loving (1970) and Rio Lobo (1970), Sherry decided to leave the acting field. In 1974, Sherry joined Talent Associates, as an executive in charge of development. Three years later, she was appointed vice president in charge of production at Columbia. With the success that she achieved with a number of profitable movies, she was hired as President of 20th Century-Fox. In 1984, she joined Stanley R. Jaffe to form the independent production company, named Jaffee-Lansing. When Jaffee was appointed president of Paramount Communications in 1990, Sherry became Chairman of Paramount Pictures' Motion Picture Group.

We will be hosting the fabulous evening gala event on May 29^th at the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel. On the day following the evening event, we will be laying a memorial plaque in the sidewalk of Avenue of the Stars.

Sponsorship tables for the evening event are available at the following levels: $25,000, $15,000.00,$10,000.00 and $5,000.00. All tables accommodate ten people and feature a prominent position in the front area of the grand Ball Room. In addition, you will get all the necessary publicity presentations in the invitations. Non-sponsor attendee passes are also available at the cost of $2,500.00 per table or $250.00 per person.
